The Three Billy Goats Gruff

I'm telling the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff for my storyboard project! I'm way excited to finish this project with the other pictures and music that I've gathered.
Here's an outline of what I'm planning to do with it:
Storyboard Objective
· 7th Grade Language Art Standard 3 Objective 1: “Use the process of inquiry to formulate questions and engage in gathering information.”
Type of Storyboard
· Fractured Fairytale
Frames/Script
· 11 frames
The Inquisitive Troll and the Three Billy Goats Gruff
· Once upon a time there were three billy goats who were going up to the hillside to make themselves fat.
· On the way up was a bridge and under the bridge lived a great ugly troll with eyes as big as saucers and a nose as long as a poker.
· So first went the youngest Billy Goat Gruff to cross the bridge.
Trip, trap, trip, trap! went the bridge.
"Who's that tripping over my bridge?" roared the troll.
"Oh, it is only I, the tiniest Billy Goat Gruff, and I'm going up to the hillside to make myself fat," said the billy goat, with such a small voice.
· "I’m hungry. Should I come and gobble you up?" asked the troll.
"Oh, no! Don't take me. I'm too little," said the billy goat. "Wait a bit till the second Billy Goat Gruff comes. He's much bigger."
"Ok, be off with you then," said the troll.
· A little while after came the second Billy Goat Gruff to cross the bridge.
Trip, trap, trip, trap, trip, trap! went the bridge.
"Who's that tripping over my bridge?" roared the troll.
"Oh, it's the second Billy Goat Gruff , and I'm going up to the hillside to make myself fat," said the billy goat, who hadn't such a small voice.
· "I’m hungry. Should I come and gobble you up?” asked the troll.
"Oh, no! Don't take me. Wait a little till the big Billy Goat Gruff comes. He's much bigger than I am."
"Very well, I’ll do that! Be off with you," said the troll.
· But just then, up came the big Billy Goat Gruff .
Trip, trap, trip, trap, trip, trap! went the bridge, for the billy goat was so heavy that the bridge creaked and groaned under him.
"Who's that tramping over my bridge?" roared the troll.
"It is I, the Big Billy Goat Gruff ," said the billy goat, who had an ugly hoarse voice of his own.
· "I’m very hungry. Should I come and gobble you up?" asked the troll.
“Try if you like,” said the big Billy Goat Gruff. “But if you do, I will fight you and win!”
“Are you sure you’d win if we fought?” asked the troll.
· “Positive,” said the big Billy Goat Gruff. “But you’re invited to come eat grass on the other side of this hill with my brothers and I.”
“Oh, that’s so kind of you! I would love to come eat grass with you and your brothers,” replied the troll.
· So they all went to the other side of the hill and ate the long green grass until they got so fat they were scarcely able to walk home again. And because the troll didn’t act in haste, asked questions, listened to the answers, and acted on the advice he received, they all lived happily ever after.

· The end.

Collaboration is a style of direct interaction between at least two co-equal parties that are voluntarily engaged in shared decision making working toward a common goal.
--voluntary, parity, mutual goals, shared responsibility, shared decision making, shared resources, shared accountability for outcomes

Emergent Characteristics of Collaboration
  1. Value of interpersonal style
  2. Development of TRUST
  3. Sense of Community

Dilemmas of Collaboration

-School structure, professional socialization, pragmatic (practical) issues

...Contemporary Context

-Societal trends, school collaboration (RtI, School-University Partnerships, Peer Collaboration), Special Ed Collaboration

SPED IDEA Collaboration

-Assessment process, IEP teams, LRE, Highly Qualified Teacher Requirements, Transition, Paraprofessionals

Collaboration includes sharing resources such as time, knowledge, availability, other resources, paraprofessionals, technologies, and strategies.

Collaboration does not happen by coercion.

ABC Observation
1. Identify a Target Behavior... that you know you can change
What is a behavior?
1. Actions or Events
2. Can be seen (observed), counted (measured), and repeated.

Developing a BIP/BSP
The teacher identifies the problem behavior and screens for it. If the behavior terminates, all is well in Zion. If not, the teacher proceeds to conduct a functional assessment which leads to the development of a behavior support plan.

Fun facts for you:
  • Any type of reinforcement causes the behavior to increase.
  • "Daydreaming" can be described by being "passively off-task."
  • ABC analysis stands for Antecedent Stimulus, Behavioral Response, Consequence Stimulus
  • Special Ed Rocks!!
I updated my profile and added a picture so everyone can see me now. I have decided to take the lovely advice of an experienced blogger and update this practically every day. She puts all of the information she learned in her classes that day on her blog. What an ingenious way to cut down on organization of notes when tests come along! So here goes...

Personal Learning Environment!

This blog will contain all of my work for IP&T 287 this semester. Hopefully this will be a great way to share the info I learn about how to use technology in the classroom. I'll be posting assignments, projects, and suggestions as I learn in the next couple of months. Enjoy!
